Drive For Food - Pun Chun Chicken Biscuits & Restaurant

Bidor, a small town which have a lot of tourist drive through this place every day..... not because of other things but because of the food there. Pun Chun restaurant is one of the trade mark in Bidor as they are famous among the tourist to purchase their "chicken biscuit" and " kill ride horse"......

But when i stepped into Pun Chun, i got a shock! The restaurant is packed!! One side of restaurant is serving food and the other side of it is a long display shelf stocked with chicken biscuits and others snack food ........

There is a small "stall" in the middle of the shop run by an old man selling only "siew bao" and "Wu Kok"

Here's the "Wu Kok" which basically fried yam paste with "char siew" as filling. Ohhh...i really love the texture of it as it's slight crispy outside and of course not forget about the soft yam filling under the crispy layer.... The "WOW" factor of this is the super delicious char siew feeling inside!! U can even feel some sweet caramelized "char siew" flavour in it!! MUST TRY!

The "Siew Bao" is also great! Filling inside is slightly better than Seremban Siew Bao but i still prefer the flaky pastry of Seremban Siew Bao.

If not mistaken, here's what WMW order for that day - Roasted Duck with Wanton Noodle.

Precious Pea's Char Siew Wanton Noodle......

Here's something i need to talk about - Duck Soup with Wanton Noodle. The look of this duck soup is not attractive at all but when Teckie let me try on this soup.......... oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!! This is what i called LIVING IN FOOD HEAVEN! The soup is a clear soup base but the flavour was so good! I guess it is cooked for long hours until the duck meat was so soft and nice to eat! It's cooked with different chinese herbal and it soften the strong duck taste.... It's so good!

After long hour drive, i prefer to go for rice item after i saw lots of nice char siew hanging there!

I go for the "char siew" and "siew chiong" rice. It was rather sad compared to the rest of the food here. I dun like it to go with white rice as i prefer "oil rice" or rice with flavour. The char siew was not as good as it look but the "siew chiong" is acceptable...

Remember to try out the Duck Soup, "siew bao" and "wu kok" here!!
