J & J Restaurant , Bandar Baru Klang 07072007

If you are Ba Sang Lang 巴生人, sometimes you find that a bit bored coz most of the eatery place being explored and the food taste was just normal compared to KL. On 07072007, my aunt invited us to a newly open restaurant - "Yu Lu Seafood Restoran鱼炉海鲜饭店 " ,located @ Bandar Baru Klang (somewhere near Jusco Klang) to have lunch. By looking at the shop front, you wouldn't even consider it as yr dining place but this time, we gave them a try...Oh...during opening period, they had the set lunch/dinner which is super cheap cheap cheap!! But at last we decided to try out their specialty rather than taking the set lunch...

Let's start with something light.... the house specialty tofu (RM 12). The picture might be misleading readers that this dish wasn't great. BUT BUT BUT, trust me, it's been a long time i never try a tofu dish as good as dish. The combination of the fresh mushroom, shredded chicken, ham slice and local tofu was really a perfect match!!!

Chicken time!!! This is not the first time i tried the watermelon chicken but this version was a good one! Previously the watermelon chicken was a little bit bland but this chicken was really well marinated and it leave a lovely glaze on top!! Honestly, i doubt the chicken hv watermelon taste but in order to combine this 2 flavour, what u need to do is one bite on watermelon to taste the sweetness of it, then one bite on the yummylicious chicken meat...haha...SHIOK! (RM 20)

Hmm..... really can't recall what is the name of this vege...in english... but we called it "Suan 蒜"(thx bloggers...its LEEK) (RM 12). The chef was so skillful until making this normal vege into a plate of dish full of nice "wok hei" ....
Here's the star of this restaurant - even the restaurant name is with this name - "Yu Lu鱼炉" (RM 30). Basically it served with a steamboat pot , filled with variety of ingredients such as fish meat, vege, "bai choi", yam stick, salted vege and etc. If i gonna explain what is the meaning of love at first sight, it happens when i sip on this soup! It taste a little bit like "ham choi tong/salted vege soup" but it's a exclusive version with the sweetness from the fish and the fragrance from the yam"

Look at it.... drool drool drool..

Dang dang dang dang - the "dong bo yuk with mantou东坡肉" (RM 23) Again, it's a must ordered food here where the meat was so tender and juicy... the fried mantou was crispy outside and soft inside.... dipped with the yummy gravy...again, I'm in heaven.

At last, the house specialty steam fish (RM 44) was also something interesting. The big and huge fish was steamed ad bathed with a special homemade sauce which full of spiciness, garlicky taste and with lots of ginger!! HoJiak!

Look @ Hitomi... she also wan to eat!!

opppsss.... another dish coming up ! The Marmite Crabs (RM 22) Which i think this was slightly too salty for me. But who cares, the flavour of marmite was strong enough to attract me to finish them up!! Hahahaha...

This is really a restaurant which worth explore. Good food and cheap food, where the bill turn out to be RM 170.10 only for more than 10 person. Here's a location map in case any of u interested...hehe... trust me, must try!!

i'm actually quite facinated by "watermelon" chicken. Does that mean it is marinated with watermelon juices and then deep fried? sorry ah.. alittle behind in the foodie world! =)

I think the watermelon chicken is funny too. Great presentation, but I don't see how it's relevant to the dish.
