When Car Car meet Kah Kah, what will happen?? Or more specifically is when Carmen from Singapore meet with Jackson Kah from Shah Alam, what will happen? It's all happen under one roof - Farmland Porridge Steamboat @ Jalan Pudu

When we were there, the restaurant was partially full and i noticed that 70% of the customer was actually JAPANESE...

The menu

I ordered my favourite drinks - calamansi with sour plum!
Attention! This is what you MUST order here - the Fried crispy "Nam Yu" Pork! It's so flavourful with the "nam yu" and crispy !! RM 12
Look @ her face and you will know how great is the food!
Honestly, we dunno what we should order for steamboat. After recommendation by the China lady, we go for the "yin yong" which come with half pot of porridge and half was the "Ma Lak or super spicy" soup base.
Chille sauce... very normal one
here's the fresh ingredient for 2 RM 27.80

Honestly, i wasn't very great or may b i'm too demanding. I heard a lot of good comment on this but after i tried, i found it was a bit bland for my tastebuds and it was just like eating normal porridge lo. Another point i need to review was the porridge on the base easily get burnt and make the overall porridge base taste awful... after i look around, we are the only one with this stainless steel pot, the rest of the customer was with the traditional claypot...

Ohh... the minced pork ball was so good!
"Ma Lak" soup base was the one i totally cannot accept!!! Beside spicy taste, basically it is just like plain water! A spicy plain water!!! End up we need to transfer all the ingredient to the porridge base...and FYI, this spicy soup coz us additional RM 5 which they never mention earlier when we order the 'tin yong" pot..... and becoz the porridge base was so little and we only eat the porridge, we call for TAMBAH BUBUR, and u know what, they charged us RM 3 for each additional. End up spending extra RM 6 for this... without letting us know before we ask for additional. This really make me not so happy...(but this only happen once i got the bill)
Well, i haven't feel the pain yet when i order the additional "enoki mushroom". But worth to order this coz it goes well with the porridge. RM 5
We added another plate of the minced pork ball!! yum yum!!RM 3.50It was so nice to meet up with Carmen even the food was just normal to me. Wasn't so bad and wasn't fantastic. But the accompany makes the different. Total bill came up to be around RM 70. Expensive??? or it's cheap? Let me know.

I still have not tried. Still cannot accept the concept of having porridge as soup base.
there is another one at Kota Damansara which serve this type of porridge steamboat, apparently that one is better so i heard, but i have yet to try it ~
Kekeke..I used to stay right opposite their other branch in Pudu as well. But I myself never try them before! :P
hmmm porridge base..as long as it doesnt burn..i think its ok..provided u put lots of seafood for the sweetness..
Ya, the minced pork balls look the best!!!
Gosh, i should really visit this place, it was featured on Singapore Varety show too ! Hope the porridgesteamboat is not too filling!
i tried there before also...er i kinda like the porridge steamboat a lot (compare to other kinds of steamboat that uses herbal soup/super spicy/tomyam), they do give you some "onion oil" put that inside and the porridge taste incredibly tasty!
tried da sj outlet... quite expensive!!! still prefer soup based though ;)
I hate it when shops are so sneaky about their charges. U leave feeling so cheated out of your money. That's one good way to chase away customers. Now on the lighter side, hmm...RM 70 = 15 euros ... rather expensive. For this price, you can get quality French meal (not fancy though). :)
Rm70 of cus expensive la. not dat u hav ordered lobster or crabs. I veli kepoh... U got new dating partner ah?
What a blast of a gather and hmmmm delicious food! Yea, you only need to look at her big smile and it covers the whole::-)
As a Norwegian, I find it very cheep. If you could get all this wonderful food in Oslo, it would have been at least double the price.
I find it very normal. Just like eating porridge only ler. Nothing special. I prefer the normal soup steamboat especially the Subang one. Looks like you found a new date to go makan makan with u. hehe...
I tried it when nxxx and chxxxx brought me there (in KL late last year). To be frank, while cooking the porridge in a claypot makes it taste (I think it's the even temperature), you still need to stir in any case. RM70 is too expensive for a meal for 2 in KL, considering what you're eating.
Bland food is fine by me - I love having the plain congee served at Crystal Jade Kitchen, with all the subtle flavours.
Anyway for me, the company makes up for it. Still, the next time I'm there, I DON'T want to have that. :)
I have been to this steamboot shop, there are great. But since then there are so many similar shops mushrooming everywhere and hardly able to follow up with them.
I'm with Tummythoz, can't accept using porridge as soup base... there's 2 shops in Ipoh serving porridge steamboat but never try them out.
And yes, they're expensive! How come they charge for the soup base refills? >:(
Should anyone of you in Ipoh, must try the individual 1-to-1 claypot porridge steamboat at Highway Steamboat Kopitiam. It's the BEST in town...if you have not try it, you should when your next trip in Ipoh.
